The abstract happened to end up on the angle it did. I had no intention of making this piece a diamond until I saw the result of the abstract. I was toying between two different concepts for the scene, but ended up going with this one. I spent days trying to find a name they felt right and then Diamond Street hit me. Immediately after I thought, "I'm pretty sure there's a Diamond Street in Laguna." Sure enough there is and... well.. this is in fact it! (mind blown.) I took the reference picture for this painting while walking on Diamond Street. A sign from the universe that this piece was set in stone before I even had a clue what was going on!
